Industries Qatar Earned a Net Profit of $1.84 Billion in the First Nine Months of 2012

Industries Qatar (IQ) "has continued its record-breaking year by registering its highest-ever revenue for the first nine months of the year, eclipsing the previous high registered for the same period of 2008, and an impressive 13.6% improvement on the same period of 2011," declared the Qatari Energy Minister, Mr. Mohammed Bin Saleh al-Sada, who is also Chairman and Managing Director of IQ. IQ's revenues amounted to QR 14.2 billion and its net earnings to QR 6.7 billion ($1.84 billion) in January-September this year, compared with revenues of QR 12.5 billion in the corresponding period of 2011 and earnings of QR 6.2 billion in the first nine months of 2008. "And further positive results are expected following the recent launch of LDPE-3 [Qapco's third polyethylene plant] and the further ramp-up of Qafco 5 and 6," added the Minister.
