Stroytransgaz Is Due to Complete a New Pipeline at the Shaybah Field in February

After completing the expansion of the production capacity of the Shaybah field from 500,000 b/d to 750,000 b/d in June, Saudi Aramco is due to take delivery of a new crude oil pipeline in February from the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor, the Russian company Stroytransgaz. The main work has been completed, according to industrial sources quoted by Reuters on 5 January. Known as Shabab 2, the pipeline is 217 km long and will connect a new gas/oil separator plant (GOSP) at Shaybah to the main Shabab 1 pipeline, which evacuates crude from the field to the Abqaiq processing complex 640 km away.
