Oryx GTL Will Have to Install Additional Facilities in Order to Step Up its Production

The South African company Sasol has announced that fresh technical problems at the gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant of Oryx GTL,a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (51 %) and Sasol (49%),are limiting the plant's rate of output to lower levels than planned.The plant has now been operating for more than three months and the first export cargo of GTL products was shipped in April (AOG,16 April,2007).
