摘要

Following the Egyptian government's decision on 22 April to cancel its gas export contract with Israel (AOG, 1 May, 2012), East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) and its shareholders, on the one hand, and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGFC) and Egyptian Natural GasHolding Company (EGAS), on the other, announced that they had lodged a request for the dispute to be submitted to international arbitration, with each side claiming compensation from the other for the losses incurred. Meanwhile, Gasco, the EGAS subsidiary responsible for managing the gas export system in the Sinai, has announced that gas is being exported to Jordan once again.
