Taqa Signs an Agreement for the Acquisition of North Sea Properties from Shell and Esso

In a statement filed with the Abu Dhabi stock exchange on 7 July, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) disclosed that its subsidiary, Taqa Bratani, had signed a sales and purchase agreement for the acquisition of upstream assets in the North Sea from Shell UK Limited and Esso Exploration and Production (UK) Ltd., which are subsidiaries of Royal Dutch Shell and ExxonMobil respectively. The operation covers all the interests, associated infrastructure and production licenses of the two companies at the Tern, Eider, Cormorant North, South Cormorant, Kestrel and Pelican fields and their satellites. Average production from these fields is running at around 40,000 boe/d, which represents a significant addition to Taqa's existing European portfolio.
