Two Contracts Awarded for the Construction of Ammonia and Urea Complexes in Arzew

Two consortia including Sonatrach signed EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contracts in Algiers in the middle of April for ammonia and urea complexes to be built in Arzew. One of the two complexes is being developed by El Djazairia El Omania Lil Asmida Spa, which is 51% owned by the Omani company Suhail Bahwan Group Holding and 49% by the Algerian national oil company, and the other by Sorfert Algerie Spa, a joint venture between Orascom Construction Industries (OCI - 51%) and Sonatrach (49%).
