Peabody looks at Chinese market

Peabody Energy has opened an office in China as it reviews investment opportunities in the fast-growing Asian economy, a move that could raise the largest US coal company's profile in international markets as it continues to add to its operations abroad. Peabody's new Beijing office will be led by Jie "Jay" Li, Peabody's new director of business development - China. Li has worked both in the Chinese government and as senior director of asset management and mergers and acquisitions for Panda Energy in the US.
