EU pellet imports edge higher in January-August

The EU's imports of wood pellets from outside the region totalled 4.14mn t in the first eight months of the year,an increase of 1.7pc from the same period a year earlier,ac- cording to data from EU statistics agency Eurostat. Net imports were up by 2.2pc at 4.07mn t. US shipments dominated supplies to the EU,increas- ing by a third year on year to just over 2.5mn t.Imports from Russia,Serbia,and Bosnia and Herzegovina also grew strongly.
