Carriers resume Iraq link

Yang Ming and Maersk Line have decided to enhance/ recommence their feeder services to Iraq. The moves reflect a strong increase in inbound cargo flows, suggesting that reconstruction and rehabilitation of the country is moving forward. Consequently, Taiwan's Yang Ming has launched an additional service between Jebel Ali and Umm Qasr. Operating on a 10-day frequency, DUX 2 uses a single 580TEU vessel, which is more than double the size of the unit on its original DUX link. It shuttles between the same two ports and commenced operations last month.
