Numerical aspects of application of FORM in node snapping truss structures

摘要

In the present paper numerical aspects of application of first order reliability method FORM in node snapping truss structures are considered. The number of the programme FEM runs and the number of iterations indicate that the proposed method provides accurate and computationally efficient estimation of the probability of failure. The study shows comparative analysis of the reliability index computations by the method of FORM, SORM, importance sampling, Monte Carlo and estimate computation error. The interesting problem is evaluation of the reliability index sensitivity with respect to random variables, mean value, and standard deviation. (C) 2014 Politechnika Wroclawska.
