The issue of management style and women's progression has beenhighlighted in the past, but women's perceptions of successfulmanagement styles are important too, especially where women's ownpreferred management style differs form their view of the top team.Such differences can lead to women not putting themselves forward forpromotion. Reports a study of male and female managers in one verylarge insurance company. Sues the personality attributesquestionnaire (PAQ) to identify the managers' own management style,and their perceptions of the style of "the successful manager" whohas reached the top team in their organisation.
