摘要

Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, the leader of a military coup in Guinea, says that all of the country's mining contracts will be renegotiated under his new regime. Camara, who recently seized power following the death of President Lansana Conte, told a meeting of representatives from trade unions, civil society, religious groups and political parties that gold mining would be frozen until further notice and that those guilty of corruption would be punished. Camara had invited represent-atives from the United Nations, the European Union, African Union and the Economic Community of West African States to the meeting, and is expected to meet with other international representatives to express his good intentions.
