China's PTA Exports Surge Past 2M-Ton Mark in 2021

China's exports of purified terephthalic acid(PTA)are surging.With the total for January to November 2021 more than tripling year-on-year to 2.32 million tons,the whole-year figure is estimated to have reached 2.5 million tons.The world's largest polyester producer,China has seen moves of late to become selfsufficient in PTA,a key raw material used in polyester production.Estimates suggest that more 15 million tons of annual capacity has been added here over 2020-2021 thanks to new plants started up by Hengli Petrochemical Co.Ltd.,Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Co.Ltd.,Xinfengming Group Co.Ltd.,Billion Industrial Holdings Ltd.,Shenghong Holding Group Co.Ltd.and Zhejiang Yisheng Petrochemical Co.Ltd.
