Ube to Decide on Increasing PA Elastomer Production During First Half

Ube Corp. (TYO:4208) will make a decision during the first half of this fiscal year on whether to expand production of its polyamide (PA)-based thermoplastic elastomer UBESTA XPA. The existing production facilities at the Ube Chemical Plant in Ube, Yamaguchi, continue to operate at high capacity. Despite making adjustments to optimize productivity to handle production increases, however, a shortage is anticipated. Ube expects to be able to increase production within about one year after the o?cial decision is made.
