Russian coal prices keep softening in Asia- Pacific

Russian high-calorific value (CV) coal prices declined slightly last week despite supporting demand from South Korea and Taiwan. The Asia-Pacific market remains attractive for Rus- sian exporters as fob prices at Russia’s far eastern ports are 40pc price assessments from Baltic ports. Russian NAR 6,000 kcal/kg coal prices fell by 34￠/t on the week to $65.58/t fob Vostochny as more sellers are ready to trade at around $65/t fob. A Handysize coal cargo could be sold at around $63/t fob, a Russian mining firm said, while a Supramax coal cargo to Vietnam was recently offered at $67/t fob.
