Changzhi Steel has imported at least 410,000 mt of Russian coking coal since May, the company has reported. This is the first time the Shanxi-based steelmaker has turned to overseas coking coal since it was established in 1947. The competitiveness of imported coking coal mainly lies in prices, a Beijing-based analyst noted to Platts.
