Enforcing the right approach

Research for the RAC Foundation by Road Safety Analysis found that on average, the number of fatal and serious collisions decreases by 36% after average speed cameras are introduced. At the end of 2015, there were over 50 stretches of road in the UK permanently covered by average speed cameras, totalling over 350 miles, with 12 major schemes installed in 2016 alone.
