Turkish buyers mostly interested in European scrap

Trading has speeded up in the Turkish scrap market this week as many companies started booking the material for April delivery. Deals were rare at the start of the week, given that sellers increased prices. By the middle of the week, prices were adjusted downwards, so demand firmed up. Business activity is the highest in Europe. A UK scrap collector has closed 2 tenders: the first one for 12,000 t of HMS 1&2 (80:20) and 18,000 t of P&S material at $413/t CFR Turkey and the second one for 20,000 t of HMS 1&2 (80:20) and 20,000 t of P&S material at $410/t CFR. HMS 1&2 (80:20) has been bought at $405-407/t CFR, up $7- 10/t week-on-week.
