Prices to decrease in November-December

By October 20, export prices for A3 scrap had declined by 3% monthon-month. The slowdown of finished steel markets in Turkey will be weighing most heavily on steel scrap quotes in the forecast period. Metal Expert expects the economic downturn to continue in the country, which will inevitably affect the consuming industries and, especially, the construction segment. Suppliers are also unlikely to redirect excessive volumes from the home market to overseas ones. As a result, a downtrend is expected to settle in the finished steel market in November, with Turkish mills seeking to knock prices for import scrap down.
