Emissions to rise by 26pc

Global energy-related emissions are expected to rise by 26pc between 2011 and 2030, although the growth rate is slowing because of climate change policies, BP's Energy Outlook 2030 report says. Most of the growth will come from non-OECD countries, accounting for 70pc of CO2 emissions by 2030. But non-OECD per person emissions will still be less than half of those in the OECD, according to the report, released last month. And a change in the fuel mix will bring a gradual decou- pling of emissions growth from primary energy growth.
