Achievement motivation of students studying in professional and non-professional colleges as influenced by family environment

摘要

Higher achievement motivation was observed in students studying in professional colleges as compared to those in non-professional colleges. Family environment was found to have a positive correlation with achievement motivation of students in professional colleges. On the other hand, negative correlation was found between family environment and achievement motivation of students in non-professional colleges. In addition, father's educational status was a significant predictor of motivational orientation. No significant impact of birth order and gender was found.
