摘要

Since the introduction of catalytic converters inmotor vehicles, the determination of platinum and rhodium has become a focus of attention in analytical and environemntal chemistry. Regarding their extremely low concentrations in environemntal matrixes, only few techniques are suitable for their determination. Up to date, High Resolution ICP-MS is probably the most powerful technique to perform this detemrination, but ht every high cost of this instrumentati calls for alternative and cheaper analytical methods. As suitable sensitivities are achievable with Adsorptive Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry, this analytical technique was deeply investigated~1 for the determination of platinum and rhodium in environmental samples such as road-dusts, wastewaters and sediments. However, while a conventional digestion procedure is satisfactory in ICP-MS, voltammetric techniques require the complete decomposition of organic substances that can interfere in direct platinum and rhodium determination.
