Shell awards large contract to Nigerian firm

SHELL NIGERIA HAS awarded a one-year seismic processing contract to CB Geophysical Solutions (CBGS), a Nigerian technical service company. The initial commitment is 1,000 sq km three dimensional (3D) seismic data. "It's a major step in domesticating seismic data processing in the country", said Bank Anthony Okoroafor, CBGS' chairman and chief executive officer. He said the company's processing suite can handle 8,000 sq km of 3D seismic data in parallel.
