Annual Scientific Congress, May 2010 - through the eyes of a pre-SET trainee.

'An education is what you have left after you have forgotten all of the course content'. Educated, I stand after the exhaustive 5 days of the Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) conducted by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in May 2010 in Perth. As I left the convention centre, my brain tried to grasp and hold on to the finer details of the course content. There are a few thoughts that have left an indelible effect on me; the importance of being a team member, leaving a legacy in the surgical career as teacher or mentor, the value of seeking the best for the patient's care and standing up for the college values are some of them.
