A facial dismasking approach for resection of an infratemporal fossa sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma

Sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma (SEF) is an unusual variant of fibrosarcoma, with 17 previously reported cases of SEF of the head and neck.1 This case illustrates the wide variety of soft tissue tumours of the head and neck, and highlights the difficulties in making preoperative decisions regarding organ preservation based on limited biopsies.We report the case of a 68-year-old male who presented with tenderness and swelling over the right zygomatic arch. Examination revealed diplopia on upward and right lateral gaze.
