Metal futures: china exports lift markets

Zinc prices neared a two-month high on the London Metal Exchange (LME) today as prices across the complex saw limited gains as Chinese exports rebounded in April despite expectations of further decline. The three-month LME zinc contract settled 2.7pc higher at $2,002.50/t – the first time the futures contract has breached the $2,000-mark since 13 March.
