China’s crude imports rebound above 10mn b/d

China’s crude imports in August rebounded by 8pc from the previous month to 10.53mn b/d (44.53mn t), with the country’s independent refners awarded a new batch of import quotas and an increase in restocking by state-controlled Sinopec. The rebound follows four straight months below 10mn b/d during April-July, although August’s intake was still 6.2pc lower than the same month last year, preliminary customs data show.
