Turkish company Ersan is seeking financing to build a $900 million refinery in eastern Turkey with an initial capacity of 30,000 b/d, sources involved in the project tell Energy Intelligence. Ersan, a subsidiary of Turkish driller and upstream firm Guney Yildizi Petrol, has negotiated government approvals and identified a site at Kahramanmaras, north of Gazientepe. Capacity would be more than doubled from the initial level 70,000-80,000 b/d at a later stage of the project, according to one source.
