A pot experiment was conducted on red loamy soil at net house, Agricultural College, Bapatla during rabi 2003-2004 to study the effect of phosphorus and molybdenum on nutrient uptake and post-harvest soil fertility status of Rhizobium inoculated blackgram and greengram crops. The experiment was conducted with 16 treatments having four levels of phosphorus (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg P_2O_5 ha~(-1)) and four levels of molybdenum (0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 kg ha~(-1)), applied as ammonium molybdate. The uptake of nutrients (N, P, K and Mo) increased significantly with increased levels of P and Mo at all the stages of crop growth. The treatment P_(75)(Mo)_(1.5) recorded the highest nutrient uptake at all the stages of crop growth and also the highest available N, P, K and Mo in post harvest soils of both the crops.
