The Fast Track to Automotive Infotainment Solutions: Modular, Extensible and Open Software Platform

When Ford asked truck owners which new functions they wanted to more efficiently organize their daily work, the response was a wish list for added value. To translate this into new invehicle features, Ford Motor Company teamed up with leading suppliers, spearheaded by Magneti Marelli and Microsoft. The resulting Ford Work Solutions were built on the open software platform Microsoft Auto 3.0. This industry first approach by Magneti Marelli facilitated a fast and economic integration of rich new features from a bigger than usual team of 3rd party contributors.
