Japan's Nippon Steel brings forward restart of two furnaces

Japan's Nippon Steel brought forward the restarts of two blast furnaces located at Muroran and Kimitsu from the end of November, the steelmaker said late Nov. 24, bringing the number of operational BFs to 11. One of the two BFs is the No. 2 BF at Muroran operated by Hokkai Iron & Coke, which was fired up on Nov. 22, having completed refurbishment works that started on July 8. After refurbishment, its volume has increased to 3,014 cu m from 2,902 cu m.
