All the tested fungicides, namely, Bavistin, Dithane M-45, Blitox-50, Captan and Bayleton at various concentrations, evaluated against Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon in relation to its mycelial growth, yield, disease incidence, height, number of internodes and juice quality, had shown the inhibiting effect for mycelial growth and disease incidence. However, in case of Bavistin, 93.3% inhibition was noticed at 500 ppm which was achieved by other tested fungicides at higher doses. Cane length and number of internodes were reduced in untreated field. Maximum yield (49.05 t/ha) was obtained after spraying of Bavistin followed by Blitox-50 (48.66 t/ha) and Bayleton (48.63 t/ha) as compared to control (35.75 t/ha). Losses in cane yield were estimated from 20-30%. Commercial cane sugar (C. C. S.) was reduced upto 1.98-2.26 t/ha. After spraying of fungicides, average disease incidence was reduced upto 5% over unsprayed (control) fields.
