According to statistics from the China Foundry Association, the total output of all castings in 2019 was 48.75 million tonne, from approximately 25,000 casting production enterprises throughout China.The Chinese foundry industry is very large and the level of development among foundries is very different. In order to promote the sustainable development of the foundry industry, the China Foundry Association worked closely with local governments to support characteristic foundry industrial clusters. The Industrial Cluster Working Committee of the China Foundry Association was established to carry out cluster work and build industrial docking platforms, regulate and lead the development of clusters. Since 2006 more than 40 characteristic industrial clusters (bases) have been refined and regulated which has been welcomed by local governments and industry. The following information presents four characteristic industrial clusters.
