On the Meaning of 'Constant Light Speed

This paper undertakes three main tasks: 1) To point out several different meanings that researchers have conferred on terms such as "constant velocity of light', or 'constant speed of light', or, most concisely, 'constant light speed' (CLS), and to analyze in detail which of these interpretations are logically tenable; i.e. do not lead to any contradictions; 2) To show what kind of Doppler-effects are to be expected on the basis of each tenable definition of 'constant light speed'; 3) To outline how, under unambiguous empty space conditions, Doppler-effects may help to settle the question: What is the true meaning of the expression 'constant light speed' in empty space?
