Eni eyeing delayed Kenya deep wildcat

Eni is looking to drill its delayed deepwater wildcat off Kenya later this year. The company had been plan-ning to drill the Mlima well in Block 11B last year after the risk was reduced when Qatar Petro-leum joined the partnership which until then only included Total. Drilling was delayed by the pandemic but in December Eni boss Claudio Descalzi met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and improved terms were given for its three exploration permits offshore Mombasa.
