Eni Morocco deep wildcat rig in limbo

Eni's deepwater wildcat off Morocco which was due to spud next month may be delayed as the drillship is in limbo off Cyprus. The Italian operator was due to use the Saipem 12000 drillship for the JP well on its Rabat Deep block off Morocco in March. The drillship recently completed the Calypso discovery in Block 6 off Cyprus relatively near Egypt's giant Zohr discovery. Last week it mobilised to drill a final well before heading to Morocco - on Block 3 - but was stopped by Turkish military ships with a notice not to continue because of military activities in the destination area. The vessel remains in position.
