EU environment ministers outline chemicals priorities under zero pollution plan

The European Commission should prioritise actions to address pollution from hazardous substances such as microplastics,per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs)and endocrine-disrupting chemicals(EDCs)under its zero-pollution action plan,member state environment ministers said at a meeting of the Environment Council on 10 June.Although the strategy is non-legislative,the member states'input shows ministers are keen to address the substances across multiple pieces of legislation,and to ensure coherence between the EU chemicals strategy and other Green Deal actions.
