EU Environment Commissioner Outlines Priorities for Emissions Trading Review

Brussels—us Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas has set out three key issues to be taken into account when the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Directive is reviewed in the second half of 2006.rnSpeaking May 4 in Helsinki, Finland, Dimas said the top priority in reviewing the directive will be setting the length of trading periods in order to create a more "stable and predictable framework" for the trading of carbon dioxide emission allowances.
