CPChem starts up new PE units at Old Ocean

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem; The Woodlands, Texas) has begun the startup of two new 500,000-metric tons/year polyethyl- ene (PE) units at its facility in Old Ocean, Texas. Based on CPChem’s proprietary MarTech technology, the two units are capable of pro- ducing metallocene linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) flm, bi-modal flm, pipe resins, and other PE products, says the company.
