Sinochem’s refining and petchem complex at Quanzhou, China, to start up mid-2020

Sinochem Group (Beijing, China) expects to start up a new 32.50 billion renminbi ($4.64 billion) crude processing unit and petrochemical complex in southeastern China by mid- 2020, according to three company sources, reports Reuters. The state-run oil and chemicals group is adding 60,000 b/d of oil processing capacity by June at an existing 240,000 b/d refnery in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. It will also begin operations at approximately the same time of a new petchem facility at the site, including a naphtha cracker with a production capacity of 1 million metric tons/year (MMt/y) of ethylene, the sources said.
