Just one new M&A transaction was announced during the week ended 13 April, down from three during the week prior. Year- to-date (YTD) volumes have fallen behind 2019 levels, as the COVID-19 pandemic has often put M&A activity on hold. The one announced deal was, however, substantial. Air Liquide says it is in exclusive talks to sell Schulke & Mayr, a maker of infection prevention and hygiene products, to private equity frm EQT. The deal is reportedly valued at $1.09 billion. It is part of a push by Air Liquide to focus on core industrial gases businesses. Schulke-Mayr’s products are playing a key role in fghting the COVID-19 pandemic.
