In my previous article on Teflon~R coated dragon eggs I described how I had come full circle with the amount of magnesium powder one needed in the mix. I had started my experiments with equimolar quantities of the three ingredients and discovered that there was insufficient magnesium to maintain combustion. I doubled the amount of magnesium and the problem went away. Later on I used a finer mesh size of magnesium powder and realized that the equimolar formula worked if the magnesium powder was fine enough.
