Principal design features and control parameters of diesel engine model regarding limitations on NO{sub}x emission

Procedure is offered for prediction of nitrogen oxides' emission at a design stage where main engine parameters are determined. Generalized analysis is provided of NO{sub}x emission as a function of heat release characteristics in high-speed engine cylinder. Quantitative evaluations are provided as applied to HH 15/18 (BMD) engine model.
