摘要

The effect of oxygen, deoxidizing agents and composition of non-metallic inclusions in low-alloy steel weld metal on conditions of the formation of an acicular ferrite structure is considered. Analysis of results of investigations conducted byspecialists from various research centres all over the world suggests that, to have correct understanding of the processes associated with the formation of the said structure, it is necessary to take into account a comprehensive effect on these processesof all components of oxidation-reduction reactions occurring in the weld pool and products of these reactions during the process of cooling the metal.
