As any savvy marketer knows, selecting the right packaging can be critical in attracting consumers' attention- whether the aim is to create a stir over a new product or merely to kick-start sales of an existing one. Opting for a cutting-edge container or relaunching in a non-traditional package are two ways manufacturers are luring consumers to give their products a second look-as the following examples demonstrate. Mayville, Wisc.-based Old Fashioned Foods Inc. has introduced its Ready Fresh line of cream cheese spreads in an aluminum aerosol can. The package complements, rather than replaces, its existing line of cream cheeses, which are sold in plastic containers.
