摘要

A computer simulation of the steel strengthening under the heat treatment with stationarv pulsed or high-speed scanning heat sources producing uniform temperature fields has been carried out. Equations for strengthening depth, time and rate of the steel cooling in a critical temperature range are established. The results obtained were used for development of technology of strengthening the ridges of railway wheels under the plasma arc beating in nitrogen atmosphere.
