Health Effects of Diesel Particulate Matter

The health effects of diesel particulate matter (DPM) are attract the attention of many people. This report introduce the information about the potential for diesel exhaust (or DPM) to pose environmental health hazards. Several organizations U.S.EPA, WHO, IARC and Ministry of the Environment in Japan) have reviewed the relevant data and evaluated the potential human carcinogenicity of diesel exhaust (or DPM). As the non-carcinogenic effects of diesel exhausts, the possibility of effects on immunity and allergy, and possibility of reproductive effects are noted. In the near future, it seems that the health effects of nano-particles emitted from diesel engines become a serious problem.
