This paper presents estimates of the aerodynamic drag coefficient (C{sub}D of flat body trucks. Wind tunnel tests using 1/5 scale model vehicles were conducted to clarify which parameters of the body shape participate in the C{sub}D value of thetruck. The C{sub}D values of the 1/5 scale model vehicles showed good agreement of approximately 4% with the value obtained by coast-down testing using the test vehicle. The C{sub}D values were measured with various body shapes, such as varying flatbody lengths and different rear wheel axle arrangements. The C{sub}D values estimates for four test vehicles showed an accuracy of less than 9% compared with C{sub}D values measured in coast-down testing.
