Import license applications climbing

NEW YORK - February steel import license applications are on course to hit their highest level in six months, according to data from the U.S. Commerce Department's International Trade Administration (ITA), and some predict those numbers will continue their climb on orders booked in late December and early January. Steel imports set to hit U.S. shores topped 2.3 million tonnes in February, up 0.1 percent from January's preliminary figures.
