摘要

There has been much research interest in second harmonic generation (SHG) to realize compact coherent light sources of blue-violet radiations. Recently, new ridge-type quasi-phase-matched (QPM) SHG devices in LiNbO{sub}3 (LN) fabricated by ultraprecision machining techniques were proposed to achieve higher conversion efficiency. In this paper, a three-dimensional full-vectorial beam propagation method based on a finite element scheme (VFEBPM) is applied to evaluating the ridge-type QPM-SHG devices and the conversion efficiencies are compared with those of proton-exchanged (PE) QPM-SHG devices.
